IRIS Forms can function in a number of modes.
Source Mode: The form content can be viewed and modified in its native format, e.g. in ADatP-3 syntax. In this case, IRIS Forms can help with the editing of the form content (using the cut and paste facilities) and with the error checking and correction (using the validation functionality). This is called Source mode.
Edit Mode: The main strength of IRIS Forms is, however, when it is used in Edit Mode. This mode provides a more structured means of editing form content.
Custom Mode: Custom Mode provides a means of viewing and editing form content through a custom, user defined graphical interface. For further information on how to create custom views see IRIS Forms SDK documentation. Custom mode is only available in IRIS WebForms.
Read Mode: Read Mode is the default mode when loading forms. It is intended for easy reading of the form, as it only shows the parts of the form that has been filled in. A form cannot be edited in Read Mode. If the form is not read-only, you can switch to other modes for editing the form. For read-only forms, you can only switch from Read Mode to Source Mode.
