Fields are generally shown within sections as a box with the name of the field above the box. There are several types of fields:
Mandatory/Required |
Marked
with an icon ( |
Conditional |
No marking is used for conditional fields. In these fields you may need to enter content depending on the rest of the form content. |
Locked |
Marked with a grey background colour. A 'locked' or 'fixed' field is a field which usually cannot be edited. This is normally because the field has a default value which must not be changed. However, if the field value for some reason differs from the default value it is possible to change the value back to the default value. An example of a locked field is the Message Text Format Identifier field in the Message Identifier set in any ADatP-3 form. This field is filled in with the basic template name of the form. |
Optional |
No marking is used for optional fields. You can choose not to see these, see Hiding and Showing Fields in the Form. |
Descriptor |
Marked as a static field. A field descriptor describes the following field and cannot be altered. The field is always shown in the Form Area. |
