This e-mail is being sent to you to provide guidance and instructions necessary for you to take the ITT Industries training course on export controls governing defense articles and services. This course is mandatory training for you and you must complete the entire course by November 9th, 2005. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE E-MAIL AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING HOW TO TAKE THIS MANDATORY TRAINING. If you have any trouble opening the training course, navigating through it or do not understand which sections you must take, please e-mail itt@contentenablers.com for guidance. Include information about your problem and the computer configuration you are using and provide a phone number where you can be reached. You will receive a response normally within 24 hours. As you know, ITT Industries is committed to full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including regulations governing exports and imports of defense products and services. An essential part of that compliance is you. All employees are responsible at a minimum for being aware of situations that may arise during the course of business where export control laws and regulations apply so that they can seek further guidance on what to do. These employees will take the Awareness Level course. However, you have been identified as someone who regularly deals with situations involving exports and imports of defense products and services and need additional knowledge to effectively do your job. Thus, you have been designated to take the KNOWLEDGE LEVEL COURSE. You must view and read all of the pages of this course in order to get credit for completing the course. Once you have viewed all pages, the online tool will inform you that you have completed the course. At any time, you can review your progress and see how many more items you must view and read by clicking on the "Course Map" button on the upper tool bar. This web-based training course can be taken at any desktop or laptop PC computer with the following configuration: RAM 256+ Processor - Pentium III+ Speakers for audio (preferred) Screen display: 1024x768 Internet Explorer browser (course may not display properly using other browsers) Internet access (broadband recommended) Macromedia Flash Player is also required. Most users already have it (even if they do not know it) and will not have any issues. Others will be automatically guided through a very quick download process. If you are not sure whether your computer meets this configuration, please contact your IT department/help desk. The course is laid out as follows: Introduction Course Overview Key Concepts Learner's Responsibilities Several Key Process Areas (such as Hiring/Staffing, Marketing/Business Development, etc.) each containing the following sections: Overview Scenarios Case Studies Depending on how many Key Process Areas you have been designated to review, the course should take you between one hour (only 1-2 Key Process Areas) and three hours (the full course) to complete. You can stop at any time and come back to the course if you cannot complete it in one sitting. If you need to come back to the course, please log out of the course and close Internet Explorer. You will be automatically timed out and logged out if you are not using the course after 45 minutes. To open and navigate through the course, please follow the instructions below: Go to http://www.contentenablers.com/itt/ using Internet Explorer. It is important to use Internet Explorer, as the course may not display properly using Netscape or other browsers. A broadband connection is recommended but not required. Enter your ITT email address as both your user name and password, LOWERCASE. User names and passwords are case sensitive. Be sure to type your entire email address, even if the password field stops adding new * symbols or otherwise seems not to be accepting new characters. You should now be at your course page. The first time you open the link you should click on the "International Traffic in Arms Regulations" course to begin. Use the View link to start at the beginning of the course. If you need to stop reviewing the course before you are finished, just close the link, and return to finish the course at a later time. You should click on Resume Course and it will take you to your previous location in the course where you left off. You will save yourself a lot of grief if you take a few minutes to review this help information.
