IRIS Forms is a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product for electronic forms developed by Systematic A/S.
IRIS Forms is used to view, prepare, and correct form contents through an easy-to-use graphical interface. The graphical interface assists the user when filling in the form, while ensuring that all the constraints of the form are met. This, combined with extensive help facilities, guides the user in operating IRIS Forms with minimal training and maximal efficiency from the very beginning.
IRIS Forms is intended to be used as a component of a larger system, but can also be used by itself. IRIS Forms can be integrated into a larger system by several means. Form content can be imported from, or exported to, the larger system with the Message Data Exchange interface. Form content can be programmatically validated or converted into XML with the Forms Engine API. These integration mechanisms are described in the IRIS Forms Software Development Kit.
IRIS Forms supports a range of different standards, including NATO ADatP-3 (STANAG 5500), USMTF, OS-OTG (OTH-GOLD), and national adaptations of the before-mentioned standards. Many standards, and many baselines of a given standard, can be used at the same time. The graphical interface for these standards is automatically built from a schema; besides distributing and importing schemas, no extra effort is involved in using a new standard or a baseline.
