The Status Bar

The Status Bar appears at the bottom of IRIS Forms window and displays the current state of IRIS Forms. An example of a Status Bar when in Edit Mode is shown below:

The left of the Status Bar displays the full name of the field or the alternative in which the cursor is currently placed.

If the selected field has legal values the description of the current legal value (if any) is embraced by '()' and follows the name. The current legal value is either the one selected for the field or, if the drop-down list is activated, the one marked on the list.

If the selected field has an explanation, it follows the name or legal values description. If the selected field has ranges, either the range (if only one) or [RANGES], follows the name or legal values description. Otherwise, the text "For Field Help press [Ctrl+F1]" is shown.

The next indicator is the length range and legal character types for that field. These two indicators only apply when IRIS Forms is in Edit Mode. When in Source mode, focus is not on one field only.

The next indicator is the validation status. It indicates whether or not the form is valid. If no text appears in the indicator, the validation status is unknown, possibly because the user has not validated the form.

The last indicator on the Status Bar is the modification status indicator. It indicates whether the form content has been changed since the last Save operation.
