IRIS Forms helps to recover your work in the unexpected case that the application or system stops working. As you edit a message, a backup is periodically saved into a recovery folder where you can find it and continue your work if needed. In normal circumstances, where you successfully finish editing your message and save it, the backed up message will be automatically removed from the recovery folder.
To recover your work you need:
Locate your message in the recovery folder. It will have the same name as the file you were working on. In the case that it was a new message that you were working on, the name of the file will correspond to the name of the template it was created from. Note that the file name may have been appended with an index number if another file with the same name already exists in the recovery folder.
Copy the recovered file to your working directory.
Open the copied file in IRIS Forms and continue your work.
The default save interval is 15 minutes.
The recovery folder is named "autorecover" and is per default located as a sub folder to the "shared" IRIS Forms program data folder:
On Windows: C:\ProgramData\Systematic\<product name>\shared\autorecover
On Linux: /usr/share/iris-proxy/shared/autorecover
For more information about changing the auto save interval or the location of the recovery folder, please see the IRIS Forms Installation Guide.
